House renovations!!!

A year ago we decided that it was time to replace the siding on our house. We then started thinking that maybe the roof should be replaced too. So we spent all last year searching for a roofing contractor and thinking about siding colors and trim combinations. I never realized how much work would be involved. Pascal has been busting his butt every weekend to make all the repairs that we discovered after the siding came off. A new front porch, a new chimney, some new sheeting and foundation repair have been keeping Pascal and Herman busy for the past couple of months. This is the latest picture of the siding and trim. Still a long way to go, but you can start to get the idea. It really is going to be like a new house when all is said and done; we will update when we can!!

Same decking, but new footings and a newly constructed roof on the front porch. Pascal discovered some stucco arches underneath the old siding that had been boxed in. They were kind of cool, but not very structurally sound. The porch is now a little higher so that we have a better view out of the front window and a little steeper to make that snow slide better. It is also not sinking and not in danger of collapsing!

New roof, and a new chimney as well. The old chimney was crumbling and beyond repair. Troy did an amazing job of rebuilding this one and keeping with the older feel of our home. The old, red roof consisted of only metal that was estimated to have been put on in the 50's or 60's and the original cedar shakes from when the house was built. We were very lucky to not have had any problems with it and are definetely happy with the new one.

  1. I love how it is all coming together. A lot of hard work and love has been put in this house, and you can now see it shining and smiling. Great work you guys.
